WELCOME TO THE 3RD ANNUAL BLACKHAWK BASKET BASH! If you've seen me at any events, you know this is all I'm talking about! I love running this event every year, and I'm honored to be the Tournament Director of choice by Marvin Lindsay himself. He will forever be a great friend to me. NOW LET'S TALK DETAILS... The Blackhawk Basket Bash returns to its roots as a Pro/AM event in 2024, sporting $750 added cash to the pro purse, and an extra $250 in added cash to the AM purse! As always, this event will utilize the Champ Side and Rec Side courses here in Centralia, IL. With potentially a 3rd Course added to the mix, if we fill up at an alarming rate. Not guaranteed. TENTATIVE SCHEDULE -PLAYER CHECK IN- 7:30AM TO 8:30AM -MANDATORY PLAYER MEETING-8:35AM -INAUGURAL FIRST DRIVE BY MARVIN LINDSAY- 8:45AM -TEE OFF FOR ROUND 1- 9:00AM OR 9:15AM DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH I SPEAK. You know me... -1 HOUR FOR LUNCH(ON YOUR OWN) AFTER THE LAST CARD FINISHES - TEE OFF FOR ROUND 2- 1:15PM....ISH - AWARDS PRESENTED AS FINAL CARDS ENTER TOURNAMENT CENTRAL CURRENTLY CAPPED AT 144 PLAYERS The idea is to be a shotgun start event, no tee times. Written OBs, Scorecards, etc. can be picked up at tournament central. It is encouraged that all players keep score using the PDGA Live App. PDGA RULES ARE IN EFFECT AND WILL BE ENFORCED. This is a TOURNAMENT, after all. If you wanted to hang out and casually play golf with your friends, you certainly wouldn't spend this kind of money. Please do not tarnish the experience of players who take competition seriously. I know it's for a good cause, but please be mindful. I hate that I have to say that every year, but it's for the best. Please visit www.pdga.com/rules if you are a 1st time competitor and do not know or understand the rules. Even if you are unaware, if you ask your card mates for their opinion as to whether or not you are breaking a rule, they will gladly give their input. SOME FUN LITTLE NOTES - 2023 saw 96 competitors, way more than 2022! Let's break the record again! - $5 of every single entry fee goes back to the Sandoval HS esports program! Thanks for your donation! - If we cap the event at 144 players, $720 will immediately go back to the kids! This doesn't include the raffle! - Last year we raised $2,100 for the program after vendor payments and all other event costs were removed! A monstrous victory over the 2022 total of $1,200. SOME FUN THINGS THAT ARE NOT REQUIRED IN YOUR REGISTRATION - I'm not doing pre-purchased raffle tickets this year, please enter the raffle at your convenience during check-in, lunch, and during awards and payouts! The raffle will be held after I'm done writing up the payout cards :) - I am offering a "division sponsorship" registration option that is not required! Basically, you can add cash to your own division by selecting an amount during registration! Scared money don't make money! Also, by putting money into your own division you basically ensure I get less sleep. I know what I'm about, son. Make me do w o r k. BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THIS EVENT AND THESE COURSES, DIVISION CAPS WILL BE UPDATED AS I SEE FIT. I AM ONLY HUMAN, PLEASE GIVE ME SOME GRACE. ALSO, DIVISIONS OF LESS THAN 3 ARE NOT GOING TO BE ACCEPTED AT THIS EVENT, YOU HAVE THE OPTION OF MOVING TO ANOTHER DIVISION THAT YOU QUALIFY FOR, OR DROPPING WITH FULL REFUND SHOULD YOUR DIVISION NOT HAVE ENOUGH PLAYERS That's all for now, sorry for the book.
