Beaver Ranch Flex: May 2025 - Blues Doubles! This will be the first DOUBLES event in our series of PDGA sanctioned C-tier tournaments, held in a flex format, here at beautiful Beaver Ranch Disc Golf Course! (This event will be a CX-Tier due to the PDGA rules for Doubles events.) To assist with pace of play, we are using a hybrid Best Shot Drive + Alternating Shot for all following shots on each hole. For this doubles event, both teammates will each drive from the tee on every hole. Then all following shots will be played as alternating throw. If Player A's drive was chosen for the lie, then Player B would take the 2nd stroke from where Player A's drive landed. For the 3rd stroke, Player A would then play from where Player B's 2nd shot landed. This alternates until the either player makes a putt on the hole. Example: A Long Par 4 Stroke 1: BOTH PLAYERS DRIVE (Players choose which shot to play from - let's say Player B had a better drive.) Stroke 2: Only Player A shoots an approach from where Player B's drive landed. Stroke 3: Only Player B then throws an upshot from where Player A's approach landed. Stroke 4: Only Player A then attempts a putt from where Player B's upshot landed. Stroke 5: Only Player B then successfully makes a putt from where Player A's missed putt landed. Result: 5 total strokes for a bogey (just for the sake of showing more strokes - I'm sure Player A would have made that putt in the tourney!) [If you would like to see an event with this format, check out "Elevated Skins #1" from Elsen Productions on YouTube. Features some of the best disc golfers from Colorado working their way around the former Bailey DGC.] ------------------------ FORMAT: One round of 21 holes of PDGA team doubles stroke play where the team in each division with the lowest total score is the champion! LAYOUT: One round of 21 holes and we will be playing the BLUE basket layout for this event. For this event all players will be playing the PRO pads for both Hole 1 and Hole 15. (All of the other holes have only one teepad.) PICK YOUR TEETIME: Tee times with card mates from any division. Just remember to check in at the pro shop at least 15 minutes before your teetime! Need to change your teetime? Edit your registration and pick any open tee time! Based on how the event registration fills up the TD may need to adjust your teetime. We will reach out to you if this is necessary. PLAYER'S PACK: TBD Attention PRO players, if you wish to have one of these awesome Beaver Flex player pack discs, you can edit your registration and add one! Attention AM players, if you would like an additional player's pack disc (I prefer to have at least 2 of the same disc so I can have a backup) you may now add a 2nd player's pack disc by editing your registration. Any extra players packs will be available for purchase at the Beaver Ranch Pro Shop during the event. ----- REGISTRATION: Early registration will be prioritized for current 2025 Beaver Ranch Members beginning Saturday, February 1th at 7AM. Registration will go live to the public Saturday, March 1st at 7PM. Beaver Ranch 2025 Members will receive the early registration access code in your emails on Saturday, February 1th at 7AM MT. Members will receive a second code to apply a 20% discount for any registration made during February. NOTES: Players pack discs will be announced within 1 month of the tournament, all players pack discs will be unique and we will not run the same mold two times in the same year. In traditional Beaver Ranch fashion, our grounds crew will ensure that the course is meticulously maintained and well manicured for this upcoming tournament! Beaver Ranch DGC will still be open for casuals to walk up and play. The Pro Shop staff will find times to squeeze in these walk ups as we want to provide them the opportunity to play this epic course. Many players you see on the mountainside playing have come in from quite a distance to mark Beaver Ranch off of their bucket list. We will request that all of them are respectful of the event taking place, but if you have any issues with these players, please remind them of the event taking place. If you need emergency assistance during the event please immediately call the TD Justin Gill at 419-215-7407. Thank you. Fee Schedule: AMs - $23 players pack (DISC) + $10 to divisional payouts + $15 Tournament Course Fee + $3 PDGA Fee = $51 per doubles partner (X2 = $102 total doubles team registration fee.) Fee Schedule: PROs - $33 to divisional payouts + $15 Tournament Course Fee + $3 PDGA Fee = $51 per doubles partner (X2 = $102 total doubles team registration fee.) The PDGA has raised the PDGA fees $1 per tier starting this season. Here are the updated PDGA Fees for 2025: C-Tier Events: $3 per player B-Tier Events: $4 per player A-Tier Events: $5 per player Temporary Membership Fee: $15 PAYOUTS: The PDGA has a fantastic Tournament Manager tool that automatically distributes 100% payouts to all top finishers. FYI, Professional divisions pay out to the top 40% of finishers while all Amateur divisions pay out the top 45% of finishers. For this event, $33 from every Professional's entry fee went directly into payouts for a 100% total payout after PDGA and tournament fees. The same is true for the Amateurs but with the addition of the player's pack fee of $23 coming out of the entry fee leaving $10 per player into each division's prize pool. This total will be paid out to the top 45% of Amateur finalists in each division at a 100% total payout. Please give our team some time and your prizes and payouts will be emailed out to you in the next day or two following the event. For all 1st place finishers (including all those who tied for 1st in their division), your Beaver Flex Champion pins can either be picked up at the Pro Shop or mailed to an address of your choosing. Check your inboxes after the event for an email with additional information on how you wish to obtain your trophy pin! Great shooting! See ya's on the Mountain!
