Join us at Haute Goat one more time this season for the third annual Frosty Goat Singles and Doubles Day. This will be a two round tournament. We will be playing a round of PDGA sanctioned singles action in the morning and a round of random doubles fun in the afternoon. This just might be your last chance to get a PDGA rated round in for 2024 in Ontario. The course plays well in the fall when the leaves are gone and you can see all the lines. The draft for doubles will happen at lunch in the Screaming Goat Cafe and be based on your morning round performance. We are going to use the PDGA Colour Divisions for this one...a good way to create larger pools of players with similar skill levels. The event will offer the following divisions: Blue - rating below 970 White - rating below 935 Red - rating below 900 Green - rating below 850 Purple - rating below 800 The Goats - Blue and White divisions - will play the Innova Rip FPO Layout The Alpacas - Red, Green and Purple will play the White Goat 24 layout. If you want the challenge or feel your rating is a bit low you are welcome to play up one division - keep in mind this is only a c-tier and your rating really isn't affected significantly if you play in a division that isn't exactly perfect. Larger divisions are much more competitive and interesting than those with only a couple players. In the afternoon the Goats will play as one pool and the Alpacas will play as another. The morning round will be just for the glory, no prizes or trophies. We will have some on-course prizes and a player pack for everyone. The afternoon round will be a best disc doubles for each pool. Like last year we will set the teams at lunch, the draw will be based on your morning performance. If we end up with an odd player out they will play California Doubles rules. We'll choose the layouts that day depending on weather and timing. We are lowering the price of entry this year to $47 per player, it was $60 last year. There is a $5 discount for Haute Goat members. Please remember that our entry fees include HST. The pass through fees will be $19, the balance going to player packs and prizes and/or trophies. Pass through fees include PDGA fees and Course Tournament fees. I probably won't play, might just sit by the fire and cook up some hot chocolate, tendonitis in my throwing arm...ugh! The Screaming Goat Café will be open for the tournament. We'll share some advanced lunch ordering options as we get closer to the date and figure out the offerings. We may just offer regular menu items but request you order ahead of time or when you check-in if possible. That would helps facilitate a prompt service between rounds. We'll wrap things up back at the Screaming Goat Café. If it's nice enough maybe outside by the firepit. Hope you make it out to this annual year end event at Haute Goat.
