Maiden Shade Open

Just a few basic things to make sure you're ready for the event. -Access code for PDGA scoring: maiden -If you are unable to attend, please let me know immediately via text at 612-850-8795 and withdraw from Disc Golf Scene. At this point the PDGA rules do not allow for a full refund unless someone takes your place, but you get nothing back if you simply don’t show up without contacting me. PDGA rules for withdraws are on their website and linked on Disc Golf Scene. -I will be set up from roughly 8:00-9:00am if you have any questions or need any discs. Check-in is not required, but there will be a short player meeting at 9:10am. Make SURE you are at the correct hole by 9:28am for the two-minute warning. My events start ON TIME. If the wind or distance make it so that you do not hear my two-minute warning or starting announcements, please just go by the time on your phones. -Your starting holes for round one will be posted at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/79946 on Friday, but please be sure to check again before going out to your holes. Last minute drops/adds could potentially change something. -We will be using PDGA Digital Scorecard for this event. Simply go to pdga.com/score or download the PDGA Live app. If you are unfamiliar with this, feel free to look at the brief tutorial on the PDGA website at https://www.pdga.com/apps/tournament/score/help. But don't stress. It is fantastic and super easy to use. Just go to either option and type in our access code: maiden -Be sure to CONFIRM each player's round at the end of the round. This is VERY important. -All divisions will be playing the same layout. I’m bringing back a layout from a couple years ago because it got a lot of positive feedback. Both rounds will be an alternation between long tees and short tees. Round 1 we will be playing odd holes from the short tees and even holes from the long tees. Round 2 we will reverse that and play odd holes from the long tees and even holes from the short tees. (Again, that's Round 1: Odd Short / Even Long and Round 2: Odd Long / Even Short). The layouts are in the PDGA scoring system with the correct distances and Maiden Shade has detailed signs, so it shouldn't be hard to keep track of. If you are unfamiliar with the course, I've attached an overall course map to this email, but you can also find the new signs with much greater detail at https://customcoursemaps.com/maiden-shade-signage/. -OB information is as follows: A disc surrounded by water or pavement is OB on any hole. NO Mando on hole 13. Sand trap on hole 15 is a hazard - which means if you land in the sand trap you take a penalty stroke but you do not relocate your disc (just throw from where it landed, but with an extra stroke added to your score for that hole). If you are confused or your group cannot come to a consensus, always play a provisional - which means you play out the hole under both situations/interpretations and then check with me after the round BEFORE submitting your scores. -Second round will start exactly one hour from when the last card is finalized. This time and your second round starting holes will be posted on the PDGA results page, PDGA Live app, on pdga.com/live, or on pdga.com/score. It will be posted as soon as I know, and you will need to check online to find your starting holes anyway, so if you plan to get food elsewhere, please give yourself as much time as possible. Don't wait around to ask me when the next round starts. If you are ready to tee off one hour from when YOU finished, you are guaranteed to be in the clear. -The crew at Maiden Shade will be selling lunch during the break. When signing up on Disc Golf Scene, many of you indicated that you would be purchasing lunch on site. If you stated that you were going to do this, please follow through with that as they have made sure to have enough food for that many people. If you declined the on site lunch option, please plan accordingly. If you’ve not played at Maiden Shade before there aren’t a ton of super close options. -Payouts for open divisions are available in cash at the end of the day. I finish payouts very quickly, so please stick around and get those. If for some reason you need a PayPal payout, please contact me after you leave to provide the necessary information. Payouts for AMs will be available onsite at the end of the day. You may redeem funny money or save it until another one of my events. Please note, if you save it for CCO it can only be used on CCO items, not with the other vendors that are there. Let me know if you have any questions. Stay safe and shoot well.
