Sanctioned for Science (CEP Charity - Rated)

Welcome to the second annual Sanctioned for Science - Buffalo, a PDGA sanctioned charity tournament in the PDGA Competition Endowment Program (CEP). The event is organized in support of the Center for Inquiry, a 501c3 non-profit organization devoted to promoting science and reason. This is a trophy only event for both Ams and Pros with all funds raised donated to charity per CEP regulations. Every division champion will receive a trophy to take home. MPO and FPO champions will also have their name inscribed on a perpetual trophy featuring a working dobsonian telescope, that is now held permanently at the Center for Inquiry headquarters in Amherst, NY. All players who register will receive a player's pack sponsored by the CFI Libraries. The tournament will be 1 round of stroke play and will be PDGA rated. We will be using a mixture of red/white tees and long/short baskets to create a Como Park layout completely unique to this event. After the tournament we will hold a fundraiser throw off. Players will be able to purchase throws for $2 and attempt to land their disc closest to a variety of prizes placed at different distances. After everyone has had a chance to throw, the player closest to each prize wins. All funds will be donated to the Center for Inquiry. If you would like to donate a prize to the throw off (it does not have to be disc golf related) please email [email redacted] or contact Eric Shaver or Ece Gundogan. Become a member of Buffalo Niagara Disc Golf to save $5 on registration and be eligible for the entire ace pot! bndg.org/membership
