The 18th Annual Lemmon Drop Sponsored by Legacy Discs and Corbett's

Hello, hi and howdy! Your friendly neighborhood Lemmon Drop Team is excited to announce we are once again running the tournament as three rounds across three days! Day one will begin on the Coati course, starting near the basin of Ski Valley, playing 8 holes before taking a short break and then riding the ski lift to finish out the final 10 holes. All players need to check-in a bare minimum of 30 minutes before tee time at Tournament Central prior to their tee time to receive their player packs, lift tickets and sign their liability forms. Regardless of when they initially checked in, all players need to report to Jess Miller, our Chief of Check-in 15 minutes before their tee times to cover any last minute details and be released to Coati Hole 1. Days two and three will begin at the top of the mountain for our Raptor Course, and play an exciting 18 holes including two par 4 holes. Players must report to Tournament Central 15 minutes prior to their tee times to review with Check-In Staff any necessary details for the Raptor Course, then line up for the ski lift at their start time. As always, our top priorities are the safety and protection of all players, the course, and employees and residents in Ski Valley/Summerhaven. We will be closely following the guidance of the forest service, Ski Valley, PDGA, and local authorities, as well as monitoring weather conditions. Tournament details including course layout may change if needed due to any of these factors. Following all local fire regulations during and after the round is required for all players. Important note: This course is set up and available ONLY during dates listed and all rounds/tee times will be booked in advance. No day-of registration or walk-ups will be available. All players must have a current PDGA membership to be able to play all B-Tier events. If you want to play the main event, you must be a PDGA member and have your registration current to play this event. Doubles does not require any membership to the PDGA. TOURNAMENT PLAY: The 18th Annual Lemmon Drop presented by Legacy Discs will be held May 17-19, 2024 on Mount Lemmon in Ski Valley, AZ will be a B-Tier tournament with 3 rounds of 18 holes. Because weekday lift times start later than the weekend, in order to facilitate the most number of players and maintain an enjoyable experience, our Friday course will begin in the basin of Ski Valley, playing 8 holes followed by a ten minute break to fill water and visit the restroom, then ride the ski lift to play the last 10 holes. Please make sure that your card remains behind the appropriate card ahead. Supporting women’s divisions is very important to us, so this year we are keeping 6 spots per F-protected pool available for two weeks following open registration as well as lowering the price for those divisions. All players are expected to keep score individually and reconcile any discrepancies before turning them in. Keeping score through the PDGA app or website is best, paper scorecards will be provided for anyone who prefers that method. At the end of your round, please submit any paper scorecards at Tournament Central. We face the possibility of extreme winds, snow, rain, etc. during any season. Even in the best of weather conditions, this course is similar to a vigorous hike with some steep uphill climbs. This event is recommended for only those players that are well prepared and can safely take on these physical challenges. KAUFINATOR TAG CHALLENGE: The Kaufinator Tag Challenge will take place on Wed, May 15th at Santa Cruz with a flex start. Further details are TBA. TOURNAMENT UPDATES AND QUESTIONS: We will have more details soon, and this post will update when we do. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments below, others probably have the same question(s) also. Thank you again for your continued support and we are looking forward to seeing you on the mountain! This tournament will have an initial cap of 60 players in Pro divisions (the "Pro Pool") and 64 players in Am divisions (the "Am Pool"). Each pool has a limited number of wait-list spots which requires full payment upfront, in the event of someone dropping out in advance of the tournament. Please see the refund policy for more details.
