Welcome to the home page for the 2024 Matt Keatts Memorial sponsored by Beer Study. This event will be a 2 day 2 round B-tier with tee times at Forest Hills Park in Durham NC. THIS WILL LIKELY BE THE FINAL TOURNAMENT RUN BY BASKET BASHERS. Don't miss out! The player pack is still being worked on but will be supplied by Dirty Birdie and will far exceed the entry fee for ams. This is a trophy only event so there will not be a merchandise payout for ams. The course will feature Logans "reverse layout" which is typically used for the Forest Hills Open but will take the place of the MKM layout for this event. More details will be provided soon! Get excited! Get Hype! The Matt Keatts Memorial at Forest Hills is back! Who doesn't love Forest Hills Park? The 2023 Matt Keatts Memorial returns this year back to Forest Hills Park as one of Durham's most sought after events. The Forest Hills Park course will feature 9 additional temp holes to create an 18 hole layout inspired by Matt Keatts himself. This layout will be different from the Forest Hills Open layout that was used this past May. The event will be a 2 day 2 round tee time event ran as a Pro C/Am B Tier. In years past, the event has raised money for the Madilyn Keatts Education Fund. This year, the Memorial will be centered around raising money for Breakthrough T1D formerly known as the JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In December 2022, Madilyn was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. We know Matt would want to support the JDRF to assist in research, medicine and cures for Madilyn and all children who have been diagnosed. $10.00 of each entry fee will go directly to the JDRF in Matt's honor and memory. Basket Bashers will also provide 20% of any and all sales that weekend to JDRF. Thank you to everyone who has made playing and supporting this tournament a priority for our family and for Matt. We appreciate you all!! We have to give a huge shout out to Beer Study for signing back on as the Title Sponsor for the event and for hosting our player's party on Saturday night. Beer Study has over 20 craft beers on tap as well as great food and arcade games in the back. It is one of Durham's signature brewery and bottle shops and they have done a lot to help grow the sport of Disc Golf so please show them some love and support. The player packs for this event are TBD but as always will be well worth it. We will present first place trophies for each division. The course will be marked (using paint and flags) the week of the event and is open to the public to practice. The course will be fully set up for play by 9am on Friday November 1st. Any help breaking down the course each day is greatly appreciated as we cannot leave the temp baskets out over night. $10 from every entry fee will be donated to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Pass through fees: $4 to BCDC (Bull City Disc Club) $3 to PDGA
