Throwing Down the Gauntlet at the BEAST, Sponsored by MVP Disc Sports

THE VENUE FOR THIS EVENT HAS BEEN MOVED DUE TO FLOODING We will be playing at Cameron Park West, a great track just on the other side of the Brazos River WELCOME to Throwing Down the Gauntlet at CPW, an Armory Disc Golf Gold Tier Event Sponsored by MVP Disc Sports! This functions as a stand alone tournament (payouts as normal, etc) PLUS earns points towards the Throwing Down the Gauntlet season tour, a year-long points series of tournaments held across Texas that culminates in our Invitational Championship in November (see below for more info) Throwing Down the Gauntlet 2024 Winners for each division of 3+ players will receive an AUTOMATIC bid to the End of Season Championship, where they will compete for $1000s in added cash + prizes! We will be playing the "DGPT Layout" of 1-4 then 10-23 for an 18 hole loop Hole Notes General O.B.- Road & beyond, Sidewalk & beyond, Any water connected to a creek, pond, or river is O.B. Hole 1- road O.B. Hole 2 Hole 3- sidewalk and beyond O.B. Hole 4- sidewalk and beyond, water in creek O.B. (drop zone if disc doesn’t come to rest in bounds. normal O.B. rules apply after tee shot) SKIP HOLES 5-9 Hole 10- road and beyond O.B. Hole 11- road and beyond O.B. Hole 12 Hole 13 Hole 14- mando left of marked tree (drop zone if missed), road and water and beyond O.B. Hole 15- road and beyond O.B., if disc lands on sidewalk that runs perpendicular it’s O.B. Hole 16- sidewalk and beyond O.B. Hole 17- road and beyond O.B. Hole 18- road and beyond O.B. Hole 19- sidewalk and beyond on right and left O.B. on side walk before basket O.B. Hole 20- sidewalk and beyond, water O.B. (drop zone if disc doesn’t come to rest in bounds. Normal O.B. rules apply after tee shot. drop zone is the short concrete tee box across the bridge) Hole 21- road and beyond, sidewalk and beyond O.B. Hole 22- road and beyond, water O.B. Hole 23- sidewalk and beyond, flower bed O.B. (drop zone if disc doesn’t come to rest in bounds. normal O.B. rules apply after tee shot) Tournament Day - Round 1 will start @ 8am with a players meeting at 7:30 am - Players Pack for all Amateur divisions will be provided. CUSTOM WORK from MVP Disc Sports and Armory Disc Golf - Hole assignments will be listed on the Armory Disc Golf Facebook page and at tournament central near the practice basket - There will be a ~1.5ish hour lunch break after last card is turned in, and round 2 will start promptly after. Check our Facebook page or PDGA event page for the exact start time of the second round - 8 CTP prizes up for grabs for free (4 each round)! - Mega CTP and Ring of Fire after the second round for free prizes! - Division caps will be lifted 5 days before the tournament begins and waitlist registrants will be added -Divisions less than 3 one week out from the event will not receive a trophy. - Check back in here for more info as the tournament draws near!
