United Way Huntington Discs for a Difference 2024 (CEP Charity - Rated)

United Way of Huntington County, Indiana is excited to host its first Discs for a Difference Disc Golf Tournament! Early childhood/educational programs matter. With your support, we are getting children ages 0-5 off to the right education start so that they can be better students, and eventually better employees and members of our society. Your registration supports United Way of Huntington County's fundraising goal of $20,000 toward early childhood/education programs like Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. (www.imaginationlibrary.com) The DfD tournament features two 18-hole rounds at the beautiful and well-kept Memorial Hills disc golf course in Huntington. Many holes on the course will feature sponsored CTP (closest to pin) prizes, many of them division-protected. Players can buy in to the 50/50 Ace Pot for $5, with the first player to score an ace claiming the payout. One major CTP prize will be featured (TBD) on one hole, available to all players for a $5 buy in. In addition, a number of sponsored items will be up for raffle with the purchase of $1/ticket. Player’s pack will feature at least a new premium plastic disc. 1st place winners of each division will receive a commemorative trophy (TBD). See posted schedule for the day. The lunch hour will begin after the last group reports in after the first round. A freewill donation lunch will be provided by Whatcha Havin’ BBQ. In addition to divisions for Mixed Amateur levels 1-4, and a Junior division (MJ18), this tournament will feature a division for true beginners with a number of perks and concessions to make this a fun event for everyone. The Beginner’s Division is for people brand new to disc golf, have very little experience, but desire to come out, have fun, and support United Way of Huntington County. The player’s pack for this division will feature 2 or 3 discs to use for the day and keep afterwards, most of them donated by other disc golfers in the Huntington disc golf community. For this division some of the tee-off locations will be adjusted, and par totals increased for ease of play. Hopefully we will have “course chaperones” in the first round for each group of beginners to help navigate the course and understand the basic rules of disc golf.
