This is the third event in the inaugural VIDGA interscholastic season. As with all VIDGA events, this tournament is restricted to junior disc golfers age 18 and under (MJ18) and will follow the College Disc Golf teams format and scoring rules: https://collegediscgolf.com/rules/. As such, it is classified as a Juniors XC-Tier event. Round 1 will be an 18-hole singles round played at the University of Richmond disc golf course, located at 50 Crenshaw Way, Richmond, VA 23226. In the event of a tie for any of the top 3 places, a match play sudden-death playoff will ensue between the tied players on holes 1, 2, and 18 played on repeat until a winner for each of the top 3 places is decided. Round 2 will be a 10 hole teams round played at Trinity Episcopal School of Richmond's on-campus 9-hole course, located at 3850 Pittaway Dr, Richmond, VA 23235. Four-player teams from two different schools will compete on each hole, playing the white tees on holes 1-9, and the blue tee on hole 1 being played as "hole 10". Each four-player team will feature an ODD doubles pair and an EVEN doubles pair, with the ODD pair teeing off on the odd-numbered holes, and the EVEN pair teeing off on the even-numbered holes. Shots will then alternate between the two pairs on each hole using the best position from the previous throws until the hole is completed. All members of each 4-player team will enter the same score for each hole. At the end of the event, the individual scores from the singles round will be averaged together and rounded to the nearest whole number for each 4-player team and added to that team's score from the teams round. Lowest overall score wins the event. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st-place player from the singles round, and the team with the lowest overall team score. All registered PDGA members with current paid memberships will receive a round rating for the singles round of this event, and earn points toward qualification for the 2025 PDGA Disc Golf Junior World Championships: https://www.pdga.com/files/2025_junior_worlds_-_invitation_to_register_criteria_v1_0.pdf If you'd like to join the PDGA (or need to renew your membership), please visit: https://www.pdga.com/membership A PDGA membership is NOT required to participate in VIDGA events, but it is strongly encouraged!
